The screening test used was Determine® HIV-1/2 (Inverness Medical Japan, Co, Ltd) and all positives were further confirmed by Unigold® HIV-1/2 (Trinity Biotech, Wicklow, Ireland).

Dosage for each compounds in cocktails referenced from reported data is as follows: 100 mg/kg VPA (Hunan Xiangzhong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd), 60 mg/kg Li2CO3 (Yangzhou Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd ., 30 mg/kg LY2157299 (Synthesized by BioChemPartner), and 25 mg/kg Tranilast (CPU-Pharma).
The tissue was then incubated with VEGF (C-1), a mouse monoclonal antibody (Mitaka Biotechnology Co., Ltd) (1 50 dilution, Santa Cruz Biotechnology, Santa Cruz, USA) overnight at 4°C, and labeled with Streptavidin-Biotin Complex for detection.
