Clusters of granule cells and a few Purkinje cells were dispersed within the distorted molecular layer.
In outer cortical layers they were mostly present in small non-pyramidal neurons appearing as dots or clusters of granules, whereas in the deeper cortical layers DPR were again present in smaller non-pyramidal neurons as clusters of granules, but in the larger pyramidal cells they often adopted a more star-shaped or spicular appearance.
