A hAS3MT gene corresponding to the sequence of the cDNA clone, which lacks the last nine residues of the hAS3MT sequence, was chemically synthesized with 5′ NcoI and 3′ SalI sites and with codon optimization for expression in E. coli and subcloned into the EcoRV site of pUC57-Kan (GenScript, NJ, USA).
