The number of defective Gateway clones that we detected here (61 out of 307; ∼20%) should serve as a caution to others who wish to use this particular library.
The results of BES analysis were very surprising because even with only 192 clones analyzed, we detected 51 contigs and each contigs contained multiple reads varying from 2 to 24.
