Sabellariid worms assemble their tube by gluing together siliceous and calcareous clastic particles using a polyelectrolytic biocement.
The quartz clastic particles are surprisingly bi-modal, a more even size distribution might have been expected.
Aggradation under normal regressive highstand conditions, in spite of the low sediment supply, was promoted by the prolific growth of microbial mats, which reduced the effects of wave and current reworking by organic binding of clastic particles.
As a sedimentary process, wind causes rounding of clastic particles.
Rock samples were obtained from a Chinese oilfield, and the sorting characteristics of clastic particles inside the rock samples are good or medium.
In this stage, the main diagenesis included dolomite cementation, ferroan dolomite cementation and clastic particles replacement by calcite, calcite replacement by ferroan calcite and the dissolution of quartz and feldspar particles in the later stage.
Moreover, events such as earthquakes and tsunamis may also allow the clastic particles to reach the deep sea after traversing the continental shelf and slope valley, forming deepwater sediments (Stow et al. 1996; Shanmugam 2008).
The fan delta, delta, nearshore subaqueous fan, and lacustrine facies developed within this period, representing a transgressive succession with the grain size of clastic particles fining upwards and the relative thickness of sandstones reducing gradually upwards (Fig. 7).
They are not supported by clastic particles.
Continental rises form as a result of three sedimentary processes: mass wasting, the deposition from contour currents, and the vertical settling of clastic and biogenic particles.
