Classification of headaches is hereby presented considering ICHD-III beta.
Current diagnosis is based on classification of headaches set by the International Headache Society (IHS) [1].
Byzantine medicine followed galenic classification of headaches into cephalaia, cephalea and hemicrania[1, 14 18].
This limitation of the search period was to ensure the inclusion of studies that were published after the publication of the updated and more detailed classification of headaches, especially TTH (ICHD II, 2004).
A comparison has been made between the cervicogenic headache criteria in the new IHS classification of headaches (3rd edition- beta version) and The Cervicogenic Headache International Study Group's (GHISG) criteria from 1998.
As a result, an easy algorithm to guide the classification of headaches according to the IHS criteria is needed to help ER physicians in making rapid and accurate differentiation of primary headaches from secondary ones [8, 16].
