Another classic sentence refers to a Merle Haggard documentary: "Among those interviewed were his two ex-wives, Kris Kristofferson and Robert Duvall".
I won't spoil the ending — I already did that for "The Deathly Hallows" in my last post — except to say that it involves a Quaker boarding school, a Burma veteran, a chance encounter, and a variation on the classic sentence "Reader, I married him".
But he managed a few classic sentences in his otherwise wheel-spinning preface to "Poems": So, in Miss Murray's poetry, the dominant emotion is, I think, a feeling of isolation, and her characteristic images tactile shapes which reassure her that "Here" and "There" are both real and related to each other.
In a classic English sentence in the active voice, the subject starts the show, followed by a dynamic verb.

Today's machine transcriptions are a lot like classic run-on sentences, hundreds of words with never a full stop in sight.
