We used ArcGIS 9.2 (Redlands, CA, USA) to delineate our study landscape from the global Anthrome 2.0 dataset and calculated the area under the consolidated three major land-cover/land-use classes (dense settlement, villages and croplands, and semi-natural wildlands) that are relevant to this study (1700, 1800, 1900, 2000 CE).
Image classification resulted into 8 land/use land/cover classes namely, dense vegetation, sparse vegetation, lake, drainage, settlement, cloud-cover, fallow/barren land, and snow cover (Figure 3).
In Northern and Central Androy (areas II and III in Figure 1) we used 20×20 m plots to verify the classes of dense stable forest and increasing forest cover.
We used the following broad land cover classes: 1) dense and secondary forest or old fallow fields with trees; 2) areas with shrubs and grasses such as in recently fallowed fields; 3) agricultural land; and 4) built-up and barren land.
A class of dense gases, namely the so-called Bethe Zel'dovich Thompson (BZT) fluids, might exhibit nonclassical gasdynamic behaviors in the transonic and supersonic regimes, such as the disintegration of compression shocks.
Note that both sub-classes provided dense axonal projections to the radiatum, with minor innervation of the oriens layers.

In the wallaby the single DAA gene is separated from the DAB family of genes by at least 1 Mb and the gene dense class III region.
We used to see a "north-south" divide, which pitted the region of the industrial working class – with its dense fabric of working men's clubs, trade unions, terraced housing and rugged pride – against the "softer" home counties.
For Tables 1, 2, and 3, compared with other methods, SIP-FS significantly achieves stability improvement for each class (except for "dense residential" and "medium residential" shown in Table 3) as well as the entire dataset, indicating that SIP-FS helps select much more stable features.
