Festival Productions was purchased for about $4 million, according to both Mr. Wein and Mr. Shields, and Festival Network announced plans to build a portfolio of world-class festivals by presenting "destination" events in prime locations.
"We have world-class festivals and events here in Edinburgh, but what we don't have are world-class venues in certain areas to do justice to them," Dixon said.

Mark E Johnson, curator of the event, says: Leeds has always had a strong comics community, with three comic shops and events such as Leeds Alt Comics Fair and the world-class festival Thought Bubble.
