Intriguingly, all 12 substrates shown in panel A are from the same organism, P. thermopropionicum SI, a thermophilic, clostridia class bacterium [ 45], while all eight members shown in panel B are from Azospirillum sp. B510, a proteobacterial rice endophyte [ 46].
