It may seem strange that most of the studies and presentations cited in the appendix of the national assessment of health-care services were directly or indirectly initiated by the pharmaceutical industry.
The area cost estimate was derived as the quotient of a reported $3.8 million/year program cost and average annual 33,669 km (dog and coyote) and 56,202 km (gray fox) bait zones (sum 89,871 km) cited in Technical Appendix 2.
