Exclusion criteria of PMX-DHP for the treatment of AE-IPF were as follows: 1) ≥ 85 year-old, 2) history of hypersensitivity for blood purification or extracorporeal circulation therapy, 3) hemodynamic instability, 4) severe cardiovascular disease, 5) severe hemorrhagic disease, 6) terminal cancer, 7) pregnant or lactating, 8) considered ineligible for PMX-DHP by an attending doctor.
