PREVIEW is a pilot and feasibility RCT comparing resuturing versus expectant management for the treatment of dehisced perineal wounds following childbirth (figure 1).
When compared with those who initiated smoking more than 1 year after first childbirth, the figures show that for all six categories, the risk of breast cancer increases with number of years smoked before first childbirth (Figs. 1, 2).
According to the Sample Registration Survey in India, in 2013, 208 women per 100,000 died in childbirth, a figure that is significantly higher than India's national average.

It also became the basis of much advocacy and the over half a million annual deaths in childbirth or pregnancy was a figure that came to be associated with this problem until evidence of a decline was finally reported in 2010 [ 40].

In Rwanda, one woman in every 35 dies in childbirth, while in the UK the figure is one in 4,700.
