Foliar PS significantly changed the leaf N, K, P, Mg, Zn and Fe concentrations.
These changes, especially those observed in the biosynthesis of phenolic compounds, may have changed the leaf attractiveness for herbivores and could be responsible for the slight infestation preference of C. populi observed in our studies.

Our results indicated that the cold rare events in the winter of 2010 changed the resilience of leaf photosynthesis by different amounts in trees of different ages.
The rare cold events significantly changed the recoveries of the leaf net photosynthetic rate (Pn) and stomatal conductance (Gs); ratios of chlorophyll a/chlorophyll b (Chl a/Chl b); contents of total soluble sugar (TSS), sucrose, free amino acid (FAA), and soluble protein; and activities of sucrose phosphate synthase (SPS), endopeptidase, and carboxypeptidase in K. obovata at different ages.
The structure of chloroplasts and the intensity of chlorophyll fluorescence in tobacco trichomes routinely changed with the leaf development stage [ 19], and were also affected by environmental factors, such as drought [ 20] and nutrient allocation [ 21], implying that trichome chloroplasts are biological active and the regulation mechanism is very complicated.
Shading treatment obviously changed the seasonal dynamics of leaf flavonoid concentrations (Fig. 2).
There are trees wrapped around one side of it and a seriously overgrown hedge, up to 18m tall and counting, whose fallen leaves have gradually changed the soil beneath to acid leaf-mould.
Successive drought and rewatering cycles can shift the time frame of plant development or phenological plasticity (Vitasse et al. 2010), and change the final biomass or leaf area (Xu et al. 2010).
Now change the tip to a leaf tip.
The sequencing revealed that miR156 was up-regulated with a 3.9 fold change in the treated callus tissue and without any expression change in the leaf tissue (Tables 1 and 2).
