Body composition analysis revealed reduced fat mass without changes of lean mass in IF mice (Figure 1D and Supplementary information, Figure S2D).
They also exhibited lower body weight due to decreased fat mass without changes of lean mass, reduced adipose tissue weight and cell size, and improved glucose homeostasis (Figure 5E-5H).
The absence of significant effects on aLM reflects the findings of previously published studies that reported only small or no training-induced changes of lean body mass in older adults [ 26- 28].
