Although the specific intervention delivered in the Early PN Trial involved the use of ready-to-mix multi-chamber bags of parenteral nutrition, to improve generalizability, we elected to blend the costs of a ready-to-mix multi-chamber bag and a pharmacy compounded bag, as blending resulted in a more conservative (higher) estimate of study intervention costs used in the CMA.
