Therefore, in this case, the name of the form is the same as the name of the substance (TsP, ch. de substantia, fol. 178rb; EP, ch. de denominativis, fol. 19va-b).
On the other hand, if we assume that the subjects have personal supposition and so refer only to the two substances, 'father' and 'son', then the sentence is false (TsP, ch. de relatione, fol. 186vb; EP, ch. de relatione, fol. 37ra-b).
For instance, the general name 'man' names and can stand for each and every man only because it primarily signifies the universal form of humanity that is present in each and every man and constitutive of his essence (TsP, ch. de substantia, fol. 178ra-b; EP, ch. de substantia, fols. 25vb-26ra).
