"It may be easier to succeed at school than in the workplace, because many campuses already have disability service centres for students and accommodations-related equipment available," says Smith. "Companies don't always have the resources available, in terms of accommodations programs or adequate building renovations".
The hotel is the training centre for students of Singapore's hospitality college, meaning that service can be inept but enthusiastic.
Birmingham University is building a £55m sports centre for students, staff and the wider community, which will include the city's first 50m (165ft) swimming pool, a state-of-the-art library and a cultural centre.
"There was an inbound university call centre for students, but it shut down because no one wanted to call them," he says.
Last week, it was reported that a weekly free yoga class at the University of Ottawa's Centre for Students with Disabilities was cancelled for the remainder of the semester due to cultural sensitivity issues.

Last year 63% of exam centres signed up for students to get their results that way; this year the figure is up to 76%.
