These are essential for quantum information and in novel photonic devices such as lasers, solar cells, detectors, and light-emitting diodes due to their ability to control their optical properties and the growth process.
A 9-cell detector prototype array has been built at the Yangbajing site, Tibet, China to comprehensively understand the water Cherenkov technique and investigate the engineering issues of WCDA.
