Further empirical, experimental and/or theoretical studies are needed to justify or modify the three categories of roof pitch chosen for the GAR15 study, as there is no clear evidence to support the choices.
The derived theory brings to light that two main roof categories exist; one stress-dominated and one stability-dominated.
Moreover, EnMAP data will allow extending the VIS framework by more detailed sub-categories such as roof and pavement, or low vegetation and tree.
