The three categories of position-based routing protocols include non-delay-tolerant network (non-DTN) routing protocols [13, 18, 25, 26], delay-tolerant network (DTN) routing protocols [27], and hybrid routing protocols [28].

According to Avicenna, then, all cases of rectilinear motion, that is, motion from some spatial point x to a distinct spatial point y, are cases of motion with respect to the category of place, whereas all cases of spinning or rotating, where the moving object does not depart from a given spatial location, are cases of motion with respect to the category of position.
So for instance, Avicenna denied that the universe has a place, but he likewise further denied that the list of the types of motion exploited by Philoponus in his dilemma is exhaustive: one must further add to that list, maintained Avicenna, motion with respect to the category of position (Avicenna 1983, II.3, 103 105.13; McGinnis 2006b).
The algorithm proposed in this article is based on the second category of positioning algorithm.
Another category of positioning algorithms are Bayesian approaches with belief propagation as an outstanding representative.
