"We saw a lot of really sympathetic cases of deportations that shouldn't have taken place," Stephen Legomsky, former chief counsel of USCIS under the Obama administration, told me of enforcement in 2017.
"In the case of deportation, both Jewish and non-Jewish, it is simply not possible to tell, or write, the truth.
They offer a tool to help foreign nationals more easily register their companies as LLCs, which can protect assets more effectively than other options in case of deportation.
The initiative has received funding from private and corporate entities, which could be used in case of deportations.

WASHINGTON -- The Obama administration announced on Thursday it will do a case-by-case review of deportations, allowing many undocumented immigrants without criminal records to stay in the United States indefinitely and apply for work permits.
