An interesting finding is that pattern IV by Tabár demonstrated the highest ORs (including the highest number of cases categorized to the high-risk group) of all the patterns investigated, even in spite of the inter-observer variance.
The assessment of the pathologic parameters revealed significant differences according to the classification of Laurén: GSC and EGJC shared a similar pattern with a higher percentage of cases categorized as intestinal-type carcinomas, and PGC displayed a higher percentage of diffuse-type carcinomas.
