The $292 that Ms. Stern spent will go toward the $20,000 the Junior League is donating to help build a playground at Adventures in Learning, a nonprofit center in Manhasset, and to Caring Kids, a bullying-prevention program that the league runs for Long Island kindergartners and first graders.
