One of the hardest problems facing anyone who cares about environmental matters is keeping a sense of scale.

In opinion surveys, large majorities of consumers consistently tell researchers that they care about environmental and social issues.
"The entrepreneurs don't care about environmental problems, don't care about labor problems and don't care about their social responsibility," he said.
"The Coalition was really far down, and this is Malcolm Turnbull's electorate and so it was important to show him that people care about environmental issues," she said.
If we care about environmental and other externalities, should we want oil prices to go up, because that will discourage oil consumption, or down because that will discourage oil production?
In the meantime, Mr. Spielvogel of the National Cleaners Association said customers who cared about environmental practices should look beyond particular methods and question the cleaners: Do they dispose of hazardous waste safely?
A respectable score for Ms Berry, an intelligent and articulate advocate of her cause, would send a clear signal to whoever wins the mayoralty that London cares about environmental policy.
His pitch boiled down to this: "If you care about environmental issues, you need to support a robust press that can cover these issues because, well, it's disappearing".
