This measurement made it possible to distinguish rapidly between strains on the basis of their fermentation capacity on entry into stationary phase.
The capacity of roundabouts has been studied over many years by a series of investigations in Germany where for all types of modern roundabouts, except the mini, the capacities of entries have been established as independent from the flow at the other entries [31].
The Hagring's model [39] was also applied to the turbo roundabouts: for major entries, eq. (2) is applied to estimate the capacity of each entry lane, considering Q c,e instead of Q c ; for minor entries, eq. (2) is applied to estimate the capacity of the right-entry lane, whereas eq. (3) is applied to estimate the capacity of the left-entry lane.
Capacity of an entry of the roundabout is described as the smallest value of the leg flow that causes the permanent formation of queue up to enter [3].
Using a checklist of 20 indicators, the IHR monitoring process assesses status of implementation in 8 areas of core capacity, development of capacities at points of entry, and development of capacities for the IHR-relevant hazards.

An estimated Can$7.55 million was invested in airport screening measures from March 18 to July 5. Figure 5 shows the probability distributions of left-lane capacity for major entries at turbo roundabouts, whereas Fig. 6 shows, by way of example, the probability distributions of entry capacity only for the left-lane on minor entries at turbo roundabouts; in this case entering vehicles face two antagonist traffic streams for which we made the assumption that Q ce = Q ci.
