Imaging was performed with a dual head camera (Prism 2000XP, Philips, Cleveland, OH, USA) equipped with either a medium-energy (In) or a low-energy high-resolution (99mTc) collimator.
SPECT imaging employed a triple-head gamma camera (Prism 3000XP; Phillips Medical Systems Inc., Cleveland, OH, USA) and was performed between 30 and 120 minutes after injection of 20 mCi (740 MBq) of Technetium-99 m ethyl cysteinate dimer (99mTc-ECD SPECT).
Instead, the zooming mechanism is cleverly mounted vertically inside the camera; a prism bends the light inside.
The whole unit consists of two camera modules, prism, optics, and glass plate; see Figure 7.
The patients were injected with a gamma emitting 99 m Tc-ECD radiopharmeceutical and the SPECT raw data was acquired by a three head gamma camera Picker Prism 3000.
The dried lungs were subsequently placed under a single photon emission computed tomograph gamma camera (SPECT) (Prism 2000; Philips Medizin Systeme GmbH, Hamburg, Germany) equipped with a pinhole collimator and adjusted for gamma energy of 310 keV of Ir; images were collected for 24 hr.
At three different time-points between 24 and 168 h after the administration of [Lu-DOTA,Tyr]octreotate, scans of tumour deposits, liver, kidney and spleen were acquired using a dual head camera (Picker Prism 2000 XP, Philips, Eindhoven, The Netherlands) using the 208-keV peak.
For all studies a single headed camera (PICKER-PRISM 1000, USA) employing a low energy gamma high resolution collimator was used.
Instead of just using filters, however, a three-C.C.D. camera uses a prism to break light into red, green and blue components and devotes a separate sensor to registering each color.
Whole-body planar bone scans with anterior and planarior views were acquired using a dual head ɣ camera (Skylight or PRISM XP2000, Philips Medical, Surrey) with LEHR collimator, energy window 140 keV ±20%, matrix 256×1024, and scan speed 14 cm/min.
Since surveillance cameras are static, Prism's software can work out which parts of a scene are fixed in place, such as walls, flooring, and furniture.
