The review found similar findings to previous studies, that people with RA adopt an antalgic gait resulting from a pain avoidance pattern that contributes to a decrease in walking velocity, cadence, increased double limb support time, and decreased ankle power with increased peak plantar pressures to the forefoot [ 11, 15, 17, 18].
Respectively, the cadence increased additionally to sustain the wheelchair speed.
The cadence increased when the gear ratio of the lever propulsion tests was lowered (Fig. 6).
As can be seen in Fig. 2, although for both males and females running cadence increased (or decreased) with increases (or decreases) in music tempo, these adjustments were more pronounced for women than for men.
Waterhouse et al. [41] revealed that cyclists' covered distance, power, and pedal cadence increased when faster music was presented, while slowing down the music tempo resulted in decreases of these measures.
The role of the stimulation frequency seems also reinforced by Moreau et al. [29] who proved higher auditory frequencies (20 and 40% above PW cadence) increased FOG in PD.
Within subjects, FE, DC and GE decreased as cadence increased (p < 0.001).
Previous studies have reported gait adaptations in RA and these include: a decrease in walking velocity and subsequent alterations to velocity related spatiotemporal parameters including, reduced cadence, increased double limb support time and decreased step length [ 14– 14].
Post hoc tests revealed that compared with off stimulation, turning cadence increased with bilateral stimulation [77.6 110.1 steps/min, t(6) = −4.633, P = 0.012] and unilateral stimulation [to 91.9 steps/min, t(6) = −3.987, P = 0.014].
Something that I have heard from a number of venture capitalists over the past few weeks is that there is some optimism in the market that the IPO cadence will increase in the second half of 2015.
