An unmissable afternoon excursion begins in the nearby village of Stechelberg, the base station of the Schilthornbahn cableway.
Take the year-round Allalin funicular up to 3,500m for a glacial panorama, or in summer, whisk yourself up to the sunny slopes of Hannig via cableway before flying back down a three-and-a-half-mile dirt track on a sturdy mountain scooter.
In addition, there are also tons of outdoor activities: Take a ride on Table Mountain Aerial Cableway, visit the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, or, heck, even go cage diving with great white sharks in Simon's Town.
