This signal was clearly driven by the single sample derived from a female patient (HN125) (Fig. S2).
The data augmentation strategy by merging the single sample with a sizable cohort from a compatible platform is one solution under the current expression-based molecular subtyping.
The three sections' variables are distributed normally; the limits of each section, the attribution of single samples to the upper or lower section, respectively, were tested by the single-sample t-test.

However, in our dataset, this trend is strongly influenced by the single, poorly performing sample, thus it would be recommendable for future research to focus on a more detailed investigation of the robustness of this trend in a larger number of older samples.
