The coefficient of variation (CV), which takes into account the population sizes being worked with, divides the standard deviation of the rates by the average rate and the systematic component of variation (SCV) measures the relative systematic component of variation in rates between regions by subtracting the random component of variance from the total variance[ 11- 13].
Interestingly, genome size did not explain a significant amount of the deviance in the total fractions of ORFs (p in Eqs. 1 2) described by the random components of the mixture models (F = 2.36, p = 0.06; Fig. 3c).
In order to attenuate the noise created by the random components in the raw data, we used Tukey's smoothing procedure [ 12].
In the proposed approach, we remove the "random" component by testing the statistics of the eigenvalues of the correlation matrix against a "null hypothesis" — a truly random correlation matrix obtained from mutually uncorrelated expression data series.
In fact, the unit-level response for the majority of units was uniform, and, although the random component introduced by multilevel analysis was significant, only 10% of the total variance in length under MV was accounted for by the clustering per each unit.
The random component is caused by machine vibrations.
The random component is affected by many uncertain factors.
After excluding the trend, and seasonal and periodic components, the random component is analyzed by the autoregression method (Fig. 4).
Estimable choice models are then derived by assuming a joint probability distribution for the random component [ 36].
Furthermore, it would be interesting to strengthen the random component of the procedure by enabling it to estimate the probability distribution of dwell times and not only their average value.
