The programme ethos is to help these students to improve their professional and business performance through a premeditated intervention, designed and implemented under the tutelage of a research tutor, supported by a tutor panel, and the programme management team.
The programme management recruited the mental health centres by contacting key figures (such as psychiatrists, directors) at these centres.
A modified version of the Institute for Health Care Improvement's Breakthrough Series Model guided the intervention development process [ 30], supported by the County Council change process consultants and led by the Salut Programme management.
Feedback from students, when they had either resumed their positions 'in the field' or pursued further training, was useful in identifying valuable and positive aspects of the programme and also in identifying areas for further action and development by the programme's management and by individual teaching staff.

As a result, it was envisioned that this report would be populated by programme management indicators derived primarily from work-stream input, process and output indicators, which by their nature relate more readily to early phase system activity.
