The present work aims to enable the use of a laser diode as an illumination source by equalizing the path lengths within an ESPI interferometer.
By adjusting the path lengths A and B such that they are equal or differ by λ, 2λ, 3λ..., the electric and magnetic fields of each half wave train and its mate add when they are superposed.
