Actually, the reported P3 attenuation in the aphasic groups in most of these studies [ 29, 31, 36] was not caused by a general processing defect in aphasia, but rather – as the authors noted – by the fact that several subjects were unable to perform the task; in this present study, even the very severe aphasic subjects were able to accomplish the task almost without errors.
