This phenomenon is caused by the CFA sampling above the Nyquist rate in these regions and the high frequencies in HR image is blended into the low frequency by the down sampling.
Figure 3 shows the signal decomposition by a two-channel wavelet structure, where x[ n] is the input signal, h[ n] is the high-pass filter, g[ n] is the low-pass filter, and ↓2 is the down-sampling by a factor of two.
This may significantly affect the performance of AV 454 in clinical samples rich in contamination (e.g. > 99% contaminants), where the down-sampling required by AV 454 would result in insufficient coverage of target genome [ 28].
