Amplicons were direct sequenced in an automated sequencer (ABI 377, Applied Biosystems, Foster City, CA, USA) using the Kit ABI PRISM Dye Terminator (Applied Biosystems) by the dideoxyribonucleotide chain terminator method (11 ).
The amplified regions were submitted to direct sequencing by the chain-termination method [ 45] using a Big Dye Terminator kit (v.3.1), which uses the enzyme AmpliTaq DNA (Life Technologies, CA, USA).
