In recent years, predictive habitat distribution models, derived by combining multivariate statistical analyses with Geographic Information System (GIS) technology, have been recognised for their utility in conservation planning.
To assemble the most detailed picture of these two important rice varieties, and to see how key traits are influenced by water availability, we have used a highly multi-disciplinary approach involving phenotyping (metabolomics, taste panel sensory analysis, yield measurements) supported by advanced multivariate statistical analyses.
