At K = 8, we detect 8 different clusters which do not correspond to each single village: Triei and Baunei were in the same cluster while Loceri is composed by two different clusters.

To assess the quality of RAMI's clustering approach, we compared assemblies of clusters produced by three different clustering algorithms, RAMI, DOTUR (Schloss and Handelsman, 2005) and BLASTclust using 269 full-length γ-proteobacterial 16S rRNA sequences from the manually curated Greengenes database core set (DeSantis et al., 2006).
The algorithm identified four different clusters as demonstrated by coloured columns.
