For the evaluation of the quantization error shown in (18), the differences of watermarked images are calculated with respect to the scaling parameters and, and the probability density function (p.d.f). is depicted in Figure 2 when and changing the scaling parameters and. Figure 2(a) shows the quantization error by fixing one scaling parameter.
In measurements II and III, we assessed the influence of interference COD and TxRate on throughput by fixing one and varying the other parameter.
(III) Initialization and parameter selection: By fixing one of the two groups of variables, T or P d 's (d = 1, 2,…, D), the other can be computed.
The lower power of the full bivariate moderation model is probably due to the variance being decomposed into as many as 15 parameters, compared to the 6 of the extended univariate moderation model: misfit resulting from fixing one of the moderation parameters to zero can more easily be absorbed by the remaining 14 parameters.

For a fair comparison, we need to fix one set of parameters and observe the remaining parameters.
One possibility is to fix one of the parameters to a particular trend, in turn determining the second parameter, determining different subscenarios (Additional File 1, Figure A1).
We found that with the two-parameter fitting, the topside profiles can be fitted to a height of about 400km above the F2-peak quite satisfactorily, while with the one-parameter fitting by fixing the slope parameter in the linear relationship, the results obtained are still good enough when the fitting is made to a height of about 300km above the F2-peak.
Furthermore a dynamic visualization can be displayable by fixing two parameters while one of the three is varying.
