Ms. Gullion said of Ms. Finke's assertion that she worked with an investor to buy Deadline, "We have not received any offers from third parties to purchase the Deadline.com business".
Officially, Penske Media, which bought Deadline in 2009, isn't commenting about Finke's departure.
Finke's contract with Penske runs through 2016, but she is trying to buy Deadline back from him.
