Unlike other NLRPs, Nlrp1b lacks a pyrin domain, the ASC-binding domain, but does encode a caspase recruitment domain (CARD) that may directly bind caspase-1 [9].
As shown in Figure 4, 'Ca. L. solanacearum' lacks an obvious phosphotransferase system (PTS) [16] for transporting sugars across the inner membrane, but does encode a single glucose/galactose transporter related to the fucose permease family (COG0738) of sugar transporters [17], [18].
The transcript for ispF of the MEP/DOXP pathway completely lacked any evidence for a transmembrane domain, but it does encode a complete 5′-end, including a predicted signal peptide followed by the phenylalanine-containing motif typical for dinoflagellate transit peptides (fig. 6 B).
However, D. geothermalis has no ortholog of the D. radiodurans RecQ, but does encode the Dgeo_1226 protein that contains a helicase superfamily II C-terminal domain and a second HDRC domain that has high similarity to the corresponding domains of DR1289.
The Arabidopsis genome does not contain a gene homologous to CBBP but does encode three proteins that also have the CXC domain.
While chromosome 21 is not directly involved in SNX27 production, it does encode a regulator — miR-155 — that inhibits production.
B. pumilus does encode a DpsA homolog (Table 3; BPUM_2703), however, it has no MrgA homolog.
This suggests several possibilities: 1) Pandoraviruses do encode an MCP that share ancestry with that of Phycodnaviruses, but is highly divergent and cannot be detected by sequence similarity.

In mammals, Syt17 does not encode a TM domain, but a number of other mammalian Syt genes which do encode a TM domain, express splice variants which lack the TM domain (Syt5, Syt6, Syt8, Syt9, Syt10, Syt12, Syt13, Syt15, Syt16).
