Osteopontin (OPN) also known as bone sialoprotein I (BSP-I), early T lymphocyte activation (ETA-1), or secreted phosphoprotein 1 (SPP-1), is shown to be multifunctional and implicated in the pathogenesis of a variety of diseases [ 11- 17].
