With its brook, pond, picnic areas and trails, Page Park has, since it was donated to the city in 1933, lived up to Dewitt Page's original deed of gift: "to be used wholly for park and playground, and to be open to the public".

The matrix acts as a barrier to elk movement (Vander Wal et al. 2012) and elk are predominantly within the protected areas (Brook 2008); however, white-tailed deer occur in both reserves and are also abundant in the surrounding agricultural matrix (Brook et al. 2012).
Because of the many roads in the area, the brook has become a drainage channel for runoff and is carpeted with debris, Mr. Schneider said.
The anthropogenically caused pollution level of the brook draining the study area was greatly reduced over time, because the number of households connected to waste water treatment plants was increased.
"So, you got this little brook coming into the area so they're staying near the open water which is where they're comfortable".
It intersected with Lynch Road and Campbell Road before turning slightly northward and following Carpenter's Brook through another undeveloped area to an intersection with NY 5 east of the village, where NY 368 ended.
The most popular area is Brooks Camp, at the mouth of the Brooks river, on the shore of Nanak lake.
There are a few high Arctic glaciers in the eastern Brooks Range, and the area is semiarid.
