Ronald Bronstein won the breakthrough actor award for "Daddy Longlegs".
She already won for best breakthrough actor at the Gotham Awards, on top of receiving a Spirit Award nomination.
Trans comedy Tangerine also gained a foothold in the awards race after one of its leads, Mya Taylor, took the breakthrough actor award.
Courtney Hunt's film "Frozen River" won the award for best feature, and its star Melissa Leo, above, won the "breakthrough actor" award.
The drama "12 Years a Slave," directed by Steve McQueen, topped the list with three nominations, including best feature, best actor for Chiwetel Ejiofor, and breakthrough actor, for Lupita Nyong'o.
Other winners included OJ: Made in America (best documentary), Krisha director Trey Edward Shults (best breakthrough), The Witch's Anya Taylor-Joy (breakthrough actor), Crazy Ex-Girlongform(longform series) and Her Story (breakthrough shortform series).
The one exception may be the breakthrough actor award, which has matched up with an Oscar nomination in five of the last seven years, according to awards stat watcher Scott Feinberg – good news for last night's winner, Felicity Jones.
Meanwhile, Quvenzhané Wallis, the 9-year-old star of "Beasts," was nominated alongside adult performers like Jennifer Lawrence ("Silver Linings Playbook"), considered an Oscar frontrunner, and Emayatzy Corinealdi (winner of the Gotham for breakthrough actor for "Middle of Nowhere").
Earlier in the evening, Terrence Howard went up to the podium to accept his breakthrough actor award and tried to adjust a "Good Night" poster behind the podium that had been listing to port a bit.
And, of course, the Safdie brothers' "Daddy Longlegs" stars the filmmaker Ronald Bronstein, making his first onscreen performance, for which he won the Gotham Independent Awards' prize for Breakthrough Actor and was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead.
