The second way that candidate inserts were detected, was when a cluster of breakpoints was mapped to the 3' terminus of an L1 or Alu in the reference genome with or without a polyA tail.
The translocation breakpoint was mapped to the BPTF gene suggesting a role for BPTF in proliferation.
The proximal SK-N-AS deletion breakpoint was mapped to between NPPA and PLOD, while the distal breakpoint is proximal of CDC2L1.
