Cognitive neuroscience research has uncovered the neural substrates of some of the key features of volition, which direct attention to two brain territories in particular DLPFC and ACC.
At 6 mo of age, complex I deficiency was noted in all the brain territories investigated (cerebellum, thalamus, and cortical-enriched fraction), as well as the optic nerves (50% residual activity) and retinas (25% residual activity) (Fig. 5A D).
Of them, 83 were found in both brain territories.
