Crider et al. (2002) have found that the magnetospheric boundary moves upward with increasing southern latitude.
An issue that may affect the water production rate is post-subduction hydration of the shallow part of the serpentinized mantle wedge, a process not explored by our modeling: As the system warms up after the cessation of subduction, the dehydration phase boundary gradually migrates upward from the warmer bottom of the serpentinized body into the colder, shallower part of the wedge (Figure 4).
Fluids released from the dehydration boundary would move upward to cause further serpentinization in the region where antigorite is still stable.
The lines C D and E F indicate the locations of ΔCFF profiles shown in Fig. 4. We emphasize here that the Coulomb stress changes shown in Fig. 3 are those calculated for the fault model in which the plate boundary is shifted upward by 6.5 km.
This transition boundary then moved upward across the annular grating in the form of a traveling wave until reaching a red mark projected near the stimulus as shown in figure 1A.
During growth and expansion periods of the O-type and O/T-type omega bands, a clear contrast was evident between the regions of light and darkness along the poleward boundaries, which may be the boundaries between the upward and downward FACs, as suggested in previous papers (Lühr and Schlegel 1994; Wild et al. 2000; Amm et al. 2005).

The parts that have high stress and strain rates do not continue directly above the boundary, but at an upward slant (Fig. 6, Section A).
The present study concerns the wall heat transfer, wall salinity transfer, wall shear stress and velocity and temperature profiles across the boundary layer for unidirectional upward or downward flow.
