As control, the unmodified complementary strand of ds-F duplex was radiolabeled (ds-F# duplex) (Fig. 2B lane 10); and as expected, only the band with the lowest mobility was detected, corresponding to the enzyme covalently bound to the double-stranded DNA and suggesting that the enzyme binds to the modified strand.
