There's something ultimately boring about criticism that insists that the glories of the past were so great that nothing modern can ever match them.
Have a proper study atmosphere wherein you don't get bored(how about that movie you watched last time you still remember all scenes and details ! ) use creative atmosphere like studying using a table lamp(as it makes focus on only the matter you are reading).
