These intervals can generally have various lengths, and different methods from fixed-length windowing to adaptive segmentation algorithms are introduced to determine the borders of the segments [23].
The angle of mandibular rotation of the proximal segments was obtained by measuring the intersection of lines passing through the upper rim of the orbit and the lateral border of the proximal segment.
With repeated episodes of acute inflammation, mesenteric fibrofatty proliferation ('creeping fat'/'fat wrapping') tends to develop along the mesenteric border of the involved segment of bowel (Fig. 5); this is a helpful additional feature on MRE denoting the site of disease.

This alternative, original landmark is formed by two lateral concavities, or depressions of the prothorax, and an imaginary line that can be drawn perpendicular to the body axis at the level of the posterior-most extent of these depressions (Fig. 5), whereas the landmark used initially in this study was formed by the posterior border of the horn-bearing segment, the prothorax.

The objectives of our study were to: 1) define the borders of the genomic segment encompassing the LG I protein QTL region, 2) characterize transcript accumulation in the developing seed of a NIL pair known to produce contrasting final seed protein content, and 3) identify candidate genes for this seed protein QTL.
